Transcripts and Short URLS
A few weeks ago, I pushed two changes to TodaysMeet: a transcript view and short URLs for rooms.
Transcript View
The transcript view is very much like the projector view (formerly called “read-only”) except for two important points.
- The transcript view is chronological, so it’s easier to read in order, and
- the transcript view does not update automatically.
To get to the transcript, look for the word “transcript” at the bottom of the Listen panel.
Short URLs
Every TodaysMeet room now has an automatic short URL associated with it, suitable for tweeting. These short URLs start with “today.io” and can be found at the bottom right of the Listen panel.
Thoughts?
If you’ve been using either of these new features, what do you think? What could be improved? If you haven’t, go try them out!

Hi James-
I created a room last week (2/24) for a group brainstorming session for my class (I set it up the room for a month). We had great success with it – we generated nearly 200 ideas as a group and the transcript feature was very helpful for tracing the development of ideas. Unfortunately, the room is still available but we are no longer able to access the transcript or the ideas. Is there anyway to retrieve it? Many thanks!!

That’s very strange, Andrea! I’ll look into it. Only the transcript view is broken?

Is it possible to print the transcript? I like the chronological view.

Sure, just print it from your browser.
What could I do to make printing better?

In my classroom I used the transcript and the projector both today –found them both very helpful.
I’m a little confused about the short url. What if I already assigned a hashtag when I made the room?
