Potential Maintenance, Oct 20-21, 2012
Last night’s maintenance was a success, but was limited in scope.
Over the next two evenings, Saturday and Sunday, 20-21 October, from around 7pm Eastern Time, there may be small service interruptions for additional capacity building and monitoring work. This work should not require significant downtime.
If you encounter any issues during these times, please check this post, Twitter, or status.todaysmeet.com for more information.
Update: (20 Oct 2012 – 3:30pm EDT)
After a rough hour or so where cache performance was spotty, it’s now warmed up and running smoothly. This should improve response times during periods of high traffic to any particular room.

A couple of months ago I began using Today’sMeet for my office hours and really like it. From time to time, though, something happens and I don’t know if I should ignore it or not.
I log in but there’s no activity unless a student shows up. Sometimes when there’s no activity (like last night), a pink rectangle that says “Could not read your messages” will appear above the Listen box. It doesn’t seem connected to anything going on in the room.
Can I ignore it or does it indicate a problem? Thanks!

When you see a ping rectangle like that, it should let you know that you have to reload the page to keep getting updates. It would also happen if the room expired while you had it open, in which case you’d have to reload and re-create the room.

Thanks so much. I assume I only need to refresh and rejoin when that happens. I appreciate the response and very much appreciate the room you’ve made available to us!

Since I can’t find anywhere to submit an issue, I am going to do it here. The site seems to be having issues this morning (November 6, 2012). Are the issues being addressed as I cannot access a page I just created to share information. Any information/timeline would be appreciated as we want to use the site as prep for a meeting next week.
Thanks!

The site is back up and running correctly as of about an hour ago. Sorry for the inconvenience!
